I never thought I would...

The bathroom is a VERY public place at our house.

It just has to be. Privacy will happen when more people can wipe their own little bottoms.

The bathroom is a great place for conversation and talking about life.

Pretty much it is a happening place around here.

Tonight, brought it to a whole new level.

I am being honest about the chaos that is pretty much a constant around here.

Adie was busy on the toilet. If there is one thing I have learned, it is hard to hurry that girl along. It must be her idea that she is done.

Titus came in doing the potty dance. He pulled down his jammies and pulled off the cloth pull-up and waited with happy feet. Adie was NOT finished yet. I pleaded with her to hurry up because Titus needed to use the toilet. I looked over and he was starting to go. So with one quick motion I swooped him up and let him pee in the sink. Gross and disgusting, I know. But it was better than watching him pee all over. To make this story even better, I was holding a screaming Jack in my other arm while I was doing this.

If there were Mommy Olympics...this event would have won gold.

(I did disinfect the sink after the event:)

Adie? Still dandling her legs on the toilet.

Oh my! Can totally picture that. But ... wouldn't the tub have been easier to throw him into than the sink? Just a thought for next time.

Angel- you have BOYS and it is warming up outside... Save yourself the disinfecting trouble and teach them to use the great outdoors! (I'm only half-kidding!). :) (besides- I'm guessing that having a few tricks up their sleeves will come in handy when their big sisters are hogging the bathroom down the road too!)

I just found your blog and I'm going back to the beginning to read up! :)

BTDT! We are a 1 bathroom family with 4 little ones and having to go to the bathroom in contagious :) Though we have had to resort to using the bathtub and in warm weather the boys can go outside :)

Ok, I did it. It took 2 hours but I read from the beginning {and because I have a bit of OCD I feel MUCH better!!!} First off, let me start by saying that I read through all your emotions {and what was obviously spiritual warfare} while you were waiting to bring the boys home. You're right...the enemy will do ANYTHING he can to keep a family apart!!! I am a mom to 4 bio daughters {12, 10, 9 and almost 7}. We are foster parents hoping to adopt 2 boys. Your post about wondering if the boys were hungry before they go to bed or if there is someone to cover them...I pray that each night for my boys. I don't know who they are or if they're even born yet...but I know God sees the bigger picture and I am confident that HE will fulfill this desire HE has given!!! Congratualtions on the birth of Jack...he is gorgeous!!! I don't look and think 'wow, she's got her hands full...I am kinda jealous {in a good way} that you're out of the 'waiting period' and it has already happened for you. You're right. People DO NOT have big families anymore and it seems that anymore than 2 children makes others look at us like we have 10 heads!!! You are blessed! God is FAITHFUL!!!

i have been there... ha ha. oh my what memories... our apartment has 2 bathrooms, and 2 is still not enough.... and they always wait til the last minute and they cannot hold it anymore... what memories.

Hehe :) Steph beat me to the "urine is sterile" thing. And trust me... in a house with only one bathroom, and 8 people, the toilet is NOT the only thing that gets peed in around here. I've even gone so far as to make one of the bigger boys use the potty chair. LOL

Your blog is becoming my new form of entertainment. I have always thought you were super woman but this little stunt solidifies your standing there forever. Quick reactions are becoming a standard M.O. for you and Carl - you better keep this blog so you can write a book when you have time in 18 years. : )
Love you friend!
